Getting started
When can I use it?
We open in December. You will be able to send a card to one person straight away, with group gifts following shortly after.
Do I need the app?
Yes. You use the weRoundUp app to send gifts and to start or join a group gift.
What does it cost?
A $50 card costs $50. You pay face value, with no fee added at checkout.
How a group gift works
When is my card actually charged?
Your card is held when you chip in, not charged. Everyone is charged together the moment the group reaches the target, and the card is bought straight after.
What happens if the group does not reach the target?
Nothing is charged. The holds are released and no money moves. The organiser can lower the target or cover the difference before it closes if they want it to go through.
Does everyone see how much I gave?
No. The group and the recipient see who gave, never how much. Your own amount appears only on your receipt.
Will the recipient know a gift is being arranged?
No. The collection happens in a separate thread they are not part of. They see the gift when it is sent, with the names of everyone who gave.
Sending and receiving
Can I send to someone outside the US?
Yes. We show you only what your recipient can actually use where they are, and what they receive in their own currency, before you pay. Many brands can only be redeemed in the country they were bought for, so we filter the list rather than let you buy something that will not work.
What if the person I am sending to does not have the app?
They get a text with a link. After a quick code to confirm it is them, the card opens in their browser. Nothing to install.
Where does the code go?
To the recipient, privately. Codes never appear in a chat, because anyone who sees one can spend it. In the app they sit behind Face ID.
What if a code does not work at the till?
Tell us from the card itself and we take it up with the supplier. You will not be left chasing a brand on your own.

Are you a bank?
No. We sell gift cards. We do not hold your money, issue cards, or move money between people.
What about savings circles?
Gifting is where we start. Savings circles come later.
